You know Media.net. It’s one of the best alternatives for Google AdSense. We have shared a detailed review of Media.net before. If you haven’t seen it, check out our Media.net review. If you are already a publisher there, you may be suffering from low RPM. In this post, we will show you how can you increase Media.net RPM with simple tweaks.
Media.net Pros
CPM Base Ads.Dedicated Account Manager.Real-time ReportingHuge Advertisers Pool.
Media.net Cons
Need Premium Traffic.$100 Threshold.
Why Increase Media.net RPM?
The answer is simple!
If you got higher RPM, your earning will be higher. As an example, think that you are generating 3000 impressions a day from Media.net. Your current RPM is $1. How much will you earn?
Just $3!
With 3000 impressions, if you can make your RPM $10, you can simply earn $30! So which one’s best? Low RPM or high RPM?
How To Increase Media.net RPM?
Some folks got reported that they are getting $0 RPM on their account, which is strange! You can’t stay on the $0 because you need to optimize the RPM and make more money from the blog. Well, we have got some simple tweaks which will help you to increase Media.net RPM.
Keep Calm, Wait!
If you just got implemented the ads, it will take minimum 2 weeks for optimizing them. So if you are seeing $0 RPM in your account, don’t worry.
I had a personal talk with my account manager with the issue and she said me this. Don’t get frustrated. Once they optimize the ads, you will start getting high RPM.
In meantime, you must consider adding awesome contents to your blog. It will attract more advertisers to bid on your blog or website.
3 Ads Per Page
Media.net will allow placing 3 ads in a single page. Utilize all of them.
Why?
Let me clear this.
When placing 3 ads on a page, a single page view will generate 3 impressions in your Media.net account. If you have got 1000 page views a day, it will convert to 3000 impressions. So, generate maximum impression for a higher revenue.
Get Help From Account Manager
When you get approval to the program, you will be assigned to a dedicated account manager. They will help you to increase your ad revenue. Simply contact them for help.
Ask them to design your ad units or split tests them.
Choose The Right Ad Position
Place ads in the right positions. Make sure that your visitors are getting a better user experience and you are making good revenue from your blog.
In our case, we will recommend you placing a 300*600 banner ad in the right sidebar. Leaderboard ad just below your website header.
Also, one 300*250 ad inside your post body. This works best for almost all blogs. Well, you can try changing the ad positions after 1-week. Test the best position and use it for better revenue.
Make Sidebar Sticky
You need to increase the maximum viewability. That’s how you can earn more from Media.net. We have said you must put a 300*600 banner in the sidebar.
For increasing the viewability, make it sticky! So when a user scrolls down, the ad will stick to the screen! It’s a working method for improving revenue and increasing viewability.
For a detailed guide, check out our guide how to make a sticky widget in WordPress.
Publish Long Content
Normally, folks are writing blog posts with 300 words. But long contents will pay you.
If it is an optimized post, it can rank higher on search engines, generate more traffic. Your content must be engaging one. Add proper images in it.
1300+ words posts are preferred. For improving your confidence and writing without any mistake, we recommend you a tool called Grammarly.
Post Ad Inside Content
There are so many ad management plugins are available like OIOpublisher, Advanced Ads, AdSanity etc. We recommend you choosing Advanced Ads plugin for adding ads inside WordPress.
But before that, you know what?
For increasing your revenue, you can add an ad inside your post content. After X paragraph. So when a user scrolls down, they will see the ad and click on it.
For a detailed guide, you should check out our guide on how to add ads inside post content.
Optimize For Mobile
Most users prefer the mobile phone everytime than desktop or tablet. They will be always browsing while traveling, working, free time etc. So, your website must be optimized for mobile.
Choose a responsive design, choose proper ad formats. Don’t pick larget size banner ads for mobile. This can affect your entire revenue. Use plugins like Yoast SEO for optimizing the website for search engines.
Use an AI
Have you heard about Ezoic? Ezoic is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) system which will help you to generate more revenue from the display ads. They will optimize the ad, improve overall page performance.
In our experience with the Ezoic AI, they have helped us to uplift our revenue by 238% and performance by 87%! It’s a huge impact!
They will work with almost all advertising networks. For joining the program, your blog must get 10,000 page views a month.
Design The Ad Format
Thankfully, Media.net will allow designing the ad unit. By default, they will give you a basic ad code after approval. Once you got logged in to the system, you can see all the ad units under ad section.
Using edit ad section, you can customize the look and feel of the ad unit. If you are not good with styling, you can contact your account manager. He/ She will help you to improve the look of every created ad units.
For maximum conversation, this will be helpful.
Combine With Google AdSense
It’s proven!
While using Google AdSense ads and Media.net ads on the same page, you will get higher Media.net RPM than usual! We have tested this thing and found a variation in our RPM and a huge variation in our overall revenue.
You can use manual ads or Google AdSense auto ads for this, But using both will increase your website loading time. But if you got a caching plugin like WP Rocket, you can fix the speed issue.
Use Ad Optimized Theme
You must consider a theme which is optimized for display advertisements. Our favorite themes are,
- Genesis Framework – This is what we are using here with a custom child theme. Check StudioPress for more designs.
- Schema – SEO ready and speed optimized theme by MyThemeShop. There are also so many other themes available in the shop.

Which Theme’s Our Choice?
For our personal projects, we will always choose Genesis Framework and a child theme like Aspire Pro. But for you, we will recommend choosing MyThemeshop‘s Schema.
It’s clean, speed optimized and ad optimized.
Optimize For Speed
You must optimize your website for speed. It will help you to impress more advertisers, improve ranking, generate traffic from search engines, increase page views, reduce bounce rate etc.
If you are using WordPress, you should consider the caching plugin WP Rocket. WP Rocket is a premium WordPress caching plugin. But, it’s worth. Use our WP Rocket coupon for a discounted price.
As an alternative, you should try WP Fastest Cache or WP Super Cache.
Now, optimize your images. We are using ShortPixel for optimizing the images and serving them faster to our website visitors. The free plan will allow to compress up to 100 images. You may want the premium plan which will help you to optimize more images.
There’s an alternative available called WP Smush. It’s also a good plugin. Also, check out our post how to minify static files in WordPress.
