We are using title tags on our primary navigation menu. Recently, some of our users asked how we did it. In this post, we are going to show you that, how can you add title tag on WordPress menus without using custom codes or plugins.
It’s a simple task! So, let’s begin.
How To Add Title Tag on WordPress Menus
First of all, log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to the menus section. You can find this section under the appearance tab.
Make sure that you have created a menu and displayed it on the primary navigation menu or wherever your theme supports. In my case, I have successfully added one.
On the top of the page, you can see a drop-down menu called screen options. You need to click on it.
On the drop-down, enable title attribute and close the screen options.
Now, you need to expand any item that you have added to the menu. Just click on the down arrow and you can see a new section called title attribute.
You need to add a title tag on the specific item. If you have multiple items on a menu, you can add title tag on all those items. That’s what we did here for AWPGuide.
Simply add title tags for your items and save the menu.
So when a user hovers the mouse over your navigation menu items, they will see the title tag that we have added for the specific items.
That’s it. This is how you can add title tag on WordPress menus.
