Why You Need Menus?
Every website and blogs need navigation menus. No matter if it built with WordPress or any other blogging platforms. On those menus, you will be able to show your most important pages and resources. For an example, let’s take Forbes as an example.
See their primary navigation menu. They are filled with categories. So, when a user came for a specific category, they can go to the specific one in a single click. This will help users to save time and mostly, they will love your website.
How To Create Menus On WordPress
Mainly there are 2 methods available.
- From Appearance.
- From Customizer.
We are going to cover both methods below.
How To Create Menus From Appearance
Under appearance, you can see the menus. If you don’t have any menu yet, name your menu and click on create a menu button.
You need to choose a location for your menu.
After that, add some items to your menu and update the menu.
Check your website from the front end. You will be able to see the live action of the menu.
Now, let’s look at the second way.
How To Create Menus Using Customizer
You can find the customizer under the appearance. Simply go there.
Go to the menus section.
From there, you will be able to create a new menu.
Name your new menu and choose a menu location from there. In my case, I am using the Aspire Pro theme and that theme got 3 specific menu locations. I wish to choose the primary navigation location for my new menu.
Now, you need to add some items. It can be links, pages or whatever you need.
After that, you can see that those items are showing in the navigation menu.
Don’t forget to publish the changes. If you choose the footer menu location, you may want to consider checking your website footer for seeing changes.
That’s it. This is how you can create menus on WordPress blog.
