WPForms is one of the popular WordPress form builder plugins in the market. And if you are planning to move to WPForms, that’s a good decision. While you are using any other form builder plugins like Ninja Forms or Formidable Forms for the forms management, you might want to consider exporting all your forms to your new plugin.
Thankfully, WPForms allow us to import form data from other plugins.
And in this article, we will be showing you how can you move from Ninja Forms to WPForms without losing any created forms!
WPForms
WPForms is a popular WordPress form builder plugin available in the market. It is a freemium product. That means a lite version plugin is available with limited features and a premium version is available with more advanced features.
The WPForms Lite can be downloaded from the WordPress plugins repository. With the basic version, we will be able to create simple contact forms. But for creating more advanced forms, probably we need to get our hands on the premium version.
WPForms Pricing
Now, let’s check out the pricing of WPForms.
- Basic – $39.50 a year.

How To Move From Ninja Forms To WPForms
Make sure that you have installed and activated the WPForms plugin before moving forward. The importing feature is available on both the free version and the premium version. If you are planning to use this plugin on an eCommerce site or something similar, we recommend you using the premium one.
It comes with a lot of advanced features.
However, with the Ninja Forms WordPress plugin, we have created several contact forms.
So when we complete the migration, we need all these forms inside WPForms. Once you have installed the WPForms plugin on your site, go to the WPForms tools section.
There, you will see two main configuration options.
- WPForms Import.
- Import From Other Plugins.
If you need to import the forms from a WPForms export file, the first option is right. Well, here in our case, we are going to import forms from Ninja Forms. From the dropdown, you will need to choose the Ninja Forms.
Currently, WPForms allow us to import form data from three plugins.
- Contact Form 7.
- Ninja Forms.
- Pirate Forms.
When you install any of these plugins, the system will automatically detect it.
After choosing Ninja Forms, move to the next step. All you need to do is, click on the Import button.
On the next page, the plugin will show you all the available forms you have.
You can select all forms for importing. Or, if you don’t want any forms, just ignore it, click on the import button.
The plugin will start analyzing available forms then.
After completing it, all the selected contact forms will be imported to WPForms!
That’s it!
If you check WPForms settings, you could see all the imported forms there.
If you need to edit the forms, just select the form you need to edit. It will redirect you to the WPForms customizer. From there, you can add new fields, remove existing ones, etc.
That’s it!
Now, you have completely moved all your forms from Ninja Forms to WPForms. You can go ahead and deactivate, delete the Ninja Forms WordPress plugin if you no longer need it.
While you do these, you might want to consider changing the form shortcodes with the newer ones. You can do it from the WordPress editor. Just paste the new, unique WPForms shortcodes in the content area and update your pages.
If you check your page from the frontend, you can see the live-action.
